Projects and research interests
AMID group research project
The present research of interest concerns the integration of immigrants in
the following areas:
- Labour market. Including to which degree qualifications acquired in their
homeland as well as in Denmark are used on the Danish labour market. It is also
about to which degree second generation immigrants do better than their parents
and whether they do as well as young Danes with similar qualifications. Another
important research area is how different public initiatives like activation and
education affect the possibilities of being integrated into the labour market.
- Education. Including how to make sure that more second generation immigrants
finish a qualifying education. How important is the social inheritance?
- Residence and moving. Including which circumstances make refugees move from
rural areas to the big cities and here to the problem housing areas. And how the
concentration of immigrants in certain housing areas influences their integration.
