The following are some types of activites offered:
Research Presentations
Consist of continuously ongoing presentations by senior
and post.doc researchers and PhD candidates of their current research.
Visiting fellows also present their research. The presentations
usually are of about 30 minutes, followed by a 15 minutes discussant
contribution and ample time for open debate.
Workshops, Seminars, and Conferences
Internal workshops for one day or more are held twice a year and include
a relevant thematic subject and some individual research presentations. Open research
seminars, sometimes offered as PhD course, of two or three days are organized
on a regular basis. AMID occasionally organizes major academic events such as
large-scale conferences on topics germane to the Academy. In addition to the Academy's
international opening conference in August 2001,
the Consortium envisages one or several end-of-project conferences to summarize
and synthesize results and outline future perspectives.
Other Activities
AMID is planning to establish "Immigrant
Days" in collaboration with users and interested parties
such as politicians and opinion leaders, officials, immigrant organizations,
employers and employees etc. AMID has held two of these conferences:
in 2003 and in 2006. The next will take place i November 2008.
External activities are also listed and are typically conferences
organized by others nationally and internationally.
